Weaving 4 Selvedge Textiles  Click Here to Order

On floor looms, with Martha Stanley.  In 1977 rug weaver Martha Stanley adapted the indigenous process of weaving four-selvedge textiles so they could be woven on our floor looms. The method described in this lecture, utilizes a continuous figure-8 warp to create a textile with four selvedges similar to that of a Navajo rug. While slower than working on a cut warp, it is substantially quicker than the indigenous methods of this hemisphere since the sheds are loom-controlled clear up to the end of the warp. Martha works on a large loom making the process very clear & easily adaptable to any type of floor loom. No more fringes or hems when you use this process on your rugs!! 81 minutes
