Working with her sister, Patricia Knoechel,
Eleanor updates a stunning 1928 Nancy Page quilt design with her easy
appliqué methods. She demonstrates a simple grid technique for making pieced
baskets for a Garden sampler quilt--some in dimensional flower blocks and
some in flat blocks. The following flower basket designs are given: Crocus,
Harebell, Bluet, Tiger Lily, Japanese Balloon Flower, Jonquil, Trillium,
Canterbury Bells, Tulip, Fuchsia, Bleeding Heart, Rose, Zinnia, Poppy, and
Shooting Stars. Two quilts are made using some of these basket designs with
one quilt being finished with solid squares and a sawtooth border, while the
other is set in a lattice and cornerstone border. A one block wallhanging is
