"Really fast knitting!" An elegant simple Checkerboard Pattern. This afghan looks beautiful with different color yarns and textures. Finished size approximately 36" x 60"    Swatch

Size 36 needle  Works well with circulars at least 40" long.   Also work with straight needles.  Crochet hook: P     Follow links to order needles and hook.

Holding your different yarns together, AKA stranding, Cast on 45 with firm cast on. Turn.

Pattern:

"Knit 5, Pearl 5" across, repeat for six rows.

"Pearl 5, Knit 5" across, repeat for six rows.

Continue pattern six more times, or the desired length. Finish with Knit 5/Pearl 5. With the "P" crochet hook, loosely single crochet edges. Add Fringe as desired. Knot ends randomly or Ply.

Ideas:  All in white, the least expensive, using undyed yarns.

Solids & Color Blends.  All in white, but substitute the brushed mohair with pink or other soft shade.

Two strands of brushed mohair and two strands of worsted in complementary colors is also an option.
